COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS

In 2023 / 2024, November Theatre ran a series of flag making workshops across the UK. These workshops were an opportunities for local members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies to gather, connect, and learn more about the history of flags in Football, Queerness and Protest. We then blasted the tunes and got the glue sticks out, giving every attendee the chance to make their very own flag. Each location not only brought together local community, but supported a queer artist and photographer to support and comment the sessions.

This project was in partnership with National Lottery Heritage Fund, Hackney Museum, The National Football Museum, Baller FC, London LGBTQIA+ Centre, Unity Theatre, Cafe Kino Bristol & We Are Here Margate.

Many participates donated their flags to PITCH’s production design! Their flags were taken on tour, and returned to them after the show. You can also see some of the flags and the stories that accompany them archived at Hackney Museum and The National Football Museum!
